The Forgotten Brands

As a kid that grew up in the 70s and painfully watched my brothers listen to music and adapt to the fashion, I decided to look for those “lesser-known” brands at the time. A year ago I collected the music of such time, including the videos, this year I’m going after the fashion.

No, this isn’t the Jordache, Bang Bang, Faded Glory or the ubiquitous Levi’s type.

But rather the “lesser brands” that didn’t get as much budget in marketing their brands but managed to sear itself in the minds of people, like Lee, Wrangler, Lois, and Amco.

And one of those brands is Lea … which I had been fortunate to discover in one of the most recently built and equally prestigious malls in Jakarta. The sales staff were eyeing me funny, wondering why I would buy their product. They probably won’t buy what they’re selling either, since they have no clue of the brand they work for. They happily indulged me in trying their comparatively cheaper clothes, and took my photos. I walked out after enjoying my time machine and…
