HOPE: An American Election Day
By N. Mark Castro
So the people of the United States of America have spoken … and the rest of the known world will feel the impact of their decision as it impacts trade relations, foreign policies, economics, and even peace, among others.
This was a choice between the Republican Party’s Mitt Romney and the Democractic Party’s Barrack Obama.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REPUBLICAN AND A DEMOCRAT?
Both Google and Wikipedia would be replete with various analysis on this subject, but I find this to be the best:
“If you want to take my guns away from me, and you’re all for murdering fetuses, and love it when homosexuals marry each other, and want to give them kitchen appliances at their showers, and you’re for the poor, you’re a liberal. If you are against those perversions and for the rich, you’re a conservative. What could be simpler?” – Kurt Vonnegut
In the end, as Vonnegut expounds:
“The two real political parties in America are the Winners and the Losers…”
Congratulations to the United States of America for displaying democracy at its best … and to Menteng Barry.
