Drop It Like It’s Hot: Golkar Finally Drops Aceng Fikri

By N Mark Castro

FINALLY, embattled Garut district head Aceng Fikri has been “dishonorably discharged” by the Golkar Party. According to reports, Aceng Fakri was dropped due to a number of corruption allegations, including a political hopeful accusing him of extortion, aside from his recent controversial divorce.

The Jakarta Globe reported that

The West Java Police will investigate claims that Aceng extorted district deputy chief hopeful Asep Rahmat Kurnia Jaya, reportedly demanding a payment of Rp 500 million ($52,000) for the post, according to Tempo.co reports. Asep allegedly gave Aceng Rp 250 million to replace exiting deputy Dicky Chandra.

Aceng took the money but appointed someone else to the post.

Legal preparations are being prepared against Aceng Fikri on a series of corruption charges, which seems to be karmic repercussions of his scandalous arrogance in divorcing his 17 year old via text message simply because she’s not a virgin, as he alleged.

No one can forget his infamous line when he said:

“Even sleeping with an artist doesn’t cost that much,” he recently told Majalah Detik. “After I bought her, I found out that she was ‘not as advertised,’ so I returned her.”

It would be interesting to wait how this current political drama takes its turn.
