RH BILL: A Second Chance

By N Mark Castro

The Philippine Catholic Church and almost all other Christian groups in the Philippines have been lobbying to no end the defeat of the Reproductive Healthcare Bill or as publicly referred to as the RH BILL.

They have used their religious pulpit to drum up support for their paranoia, which is their right; but when they threaten both the public at large and politicians to eternal damnation, that’s when you know things are awry.

Tell you what, Church:

Why don’t you stay away from affairs of the state, and I’ll keep the BIR away from you.

Because ignorance isn’t bliss.

And ignorant politicians should retire

Because it’s to break …

Congratulations to the politicians that saw the bigger side of the story, and though it’s still an uphill climb as reported, it’s nonetheless a welcome start.

No virus, no bacteria, no illness is as potent as an idea … especially an idea whose time has come.

Thank you, Congresswoman Jaye Lacson-Noel, for keeping me update how each and everyone voted till the wee hours of the morning.
