So LinkedIn made a big mistake of inviting me to publish my posts … as well perhaps with over a thousand other members scrambling to post their own thoughts, political opinions, food pictures.
Wait, I thought that’s what Facebook is for?
And for your food pictures, well, have you ever really eaten if it wasn’t in Instagram?
At least that’s what I feel whenever my friends post their food menu for the day. Is it an invitation? Or they’re trying to tell me: “You can’t eat this food, you fatty Markie.”
Ignorance, after all, is bliss.
They failed to rejoin that quote with a question: “Bliss for whom?”
Because if we are to dissect our environment; sometimes, you get to see the most blissful people on earth simply because of their ignorance.
And those around them are the ones suffering for it.
So perhaps some internal conversation should be included. You don’t necessarily need to go up to the mountain to meditate and hope for enlightenment. It’s quite difficult to lodge that on your annual leave form — although it would be quite interesting for HR to read it.
No, an internal dialogue would suffice. Perhaps every end of the day you can ask yourself: “What stupid thing did I do today?”
Betcha that’d help.
Because, if not, don’t look around for an explanation why some people at work are avoiding you like the plague.
Just a food for thought.
And you can Instagram that.
